What are some of the ways that western culture changed in response to Enlightenment ideas? Be sure to mention the baroque, neoclassical, and classical styles.
Enlightenment ideas not only affected the government styles and people's belief about ideal governments, but also on cultures such as art and music. For fields of art, baroque is the style of art that describes all the grand, ornate works in 1600s to early 1700s which is before the Enlightenment, while neoclassical is the style of art that describes all the lighter and more elegant works in late 1700s which is during the Enlightenment. Similarly, the classical is the style of music that describes the styles of composers such as Mozart and Beethoven who worked in late 1700s which is comparably lighter and simpler to the music from 1600s and early 1700s from composers such as Bach and Handel. Enlightenment is against absolutism, and heavily focuses on individual rights and happiness. This desire to be free from authority that the enlightenment awakened must've caused art and music to be lighter and simpler than from the grand heavy styles from the past.

Think about people today who you would considered to be enlightened thinkers. Research what they have done - justify your choice in a paragraph.
Although three centuries have passed since the age of Enlightenment has introduced the human race to the world of reasoning and consequently a reformation of people's perception of a government's role, enlightened thinkers such as Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, still tries to change the world with the enlightenment ideas as Sir Isaac Newton and Jean-Jacques Rousseau did at the age of Enlightenment. During the age of Enlightenment, scientists such as Sir Isaac Newton tried to find logical reasons for all the activities happening in the universe unlike how the church tried to reason everything with "god". On a different field of studies, Jean-Jacques Rousseau used the term "social contract" to state that the people who are subjects of a government should have the right to have control over and, if necessary, use a revolution to reform the government. Julian Assange tried to reason government's awkward behaviors or corruptions by investigating, researching, and collecting governments' internal confidential documents. In a wider view, Julian Assange tried to give the people (subjects of the government) the right to see what is happening in the government (that they have created themselves). Julian's effort to reason the political movements much can be compared to one of the most famous enlightened thinker, Sir Isaac Newton,'s effort to reason the motions and interactions between objects in the universe. Nevertheless, Julian Assange, just like Jean-Jacques Rousseau, tried to give more power and liberty for the people from the government than the present allowed them by arguing the people had certain rights regarding the government which was the right to be the laws' author for Rousseau, and the right to know the government's secrets for Assange. Some argue that the Wikileaks are threatening the national securities and is misleading the public by introducing confidential documents to them as the Wikileaks team finds more confidential documents and publicizes to wider audiences, but it disregarding the issue being right or wrong, Wikileaks' actions surely reflect the enlightenment beliefs that laid heavy importance on reasoning and individual's rights.
